The task to lose weight after having a baby is a difficult one and it really brings the point across that nothing precious comes easily. But you don’t need to be stuck with all the extra pounds, so allow me to present to you some information that will help you to lose weight after having a baby.
Months of planning for the big day when baby arrives, the thought of losing weight after giving birth I’m sure did not make your top ten to do list, as all the preparations were centered on the baby’s wellbeing. But with time, normalcy takes over excitement and you must be eager to lose the extra pounds, though you should understand that diets are not advisable the first two months after having a baby. You must allow your body to recover because your body is depleted of vitamins and minerals after childbirth. It’s a constant source of stress to have to think how to lose weight having a baby, but it will help to know that your body does a lot of the work for you during recovery.
For those of you who are desperate to lose weight after having a baby, you should know that you can expect to lose about 11 pounds immediately after childbirth. Over the course of few weeks thereafter, you can expect to lose about 11 pounds more from shrinking uterus, fluids, and etc. As you can see, your normal recovery cycle is already at work helping you to shed the extra pounds after giving birth to your baby.
Your body type (fitness level) prior to your pregnancy plays a big role on how easily and how fast you may lose weight after having a baby. Skinny moms have less weight to lose and they also lose weight faster. While skinny moms can easily shed all the extra pounds in the first three months after childbirth, unfortunately it can be quite difficult for the obese and the borderline obese moms. Skinny moms have at most 35 pounds to lose post-pregnancy, while obese moms might have to shed up to 75 pounds.
Clearly, the traditional low-calorie diet is not the answer to losing weight after having a baby. All the more so if you are breastfeeding as you are burning 750 extra calories. There are, however weight loss techniques that help you manipulate and control your body to burn calories at much more efficient rate. Traditional diets are risky undertaking to lose weight after having a baby, for reasons including your own recovery and for providing proper nutrient for the baby if you are breastfeeding. If you can set aside 30 minutes a day for brisk walks and employ a proper weight loss technique, you can stay healthy and safely drop that baby weight.

Hi there.
I have a 4.5 month old and are facing the weight issue myself.
I think the best way would be to try and eat lots of fruit, veg, cereals, basically try and cut down on sugars and stuff and also walking is great. My husband, baby and I have just started walking every night, i am starting to feel a little lighter and firmer i think if i cut out chocolate i would lose it easier but i love it soo much!
Maybe if your one year old and your baby have a sleep put them in the pram but not sure if you would have the time, i think it would be ahrder with two. Drinking lots of water and be commited to doing 50 sit ups a day to get your tummy strength back. But if you can i think walking is great and try and cut out sugars/ fats. breastfeeding can help too.
Hope all goes well with your birth in a couple of weeks, and congratulations too. Hope this helps also be a bit fair on yourself, we all put on weight when we have a baby, it takes 9 months, enjoy your new addition, it will come off with a healthy diet and excercise.

First of all, congratulations:)
I think you should wait at least 2-3 months after giving birth with doing any kind of exercise. You need time with the baby (babies) and feeding them…after that, you should start out slowly. First of all, a lot of fruits and vegetables are essential, for you and your babies too (what you eat, they will eat in some way also). Then, start out by walking, I think after months of pregnancy, you can find that challenging too. And it is good to get the babies involved, you can take them for a walk. I had a video where the mommy used to work out with the baby itself, when she was doing for example ab curls, the baby was lying on her tummy and she spoke to the baby and smiled, or while she was doing buttox exercises, the baby lied in front of her and she could keep talking to her while exercising.
Ok, enough, anyway, try Cindy Crawford’s videos, she has one on after pregnancy too.
Hope this helps! And I wish you a lot of joy with your children:)

Noodlemaster, what are you on? Idiot! Of course she should gain weight, theres more to the weight than a baby. Theres extra fluid, blood, placenta, milk… As for losing the weight… Once your up to it, just start taking a walk everyday with the kids in a buggy. Doesnt have to be a beautiful outdoors walk, even just walking through a city window shopping is still exercise. If you plan on breastfeeding this will also help. The fresh air from the walk will help you and its good for the kids too. Good luck!

My daughter is 11 months old and I’m due in 3 days with my newborn. I think the answer is we’ll be so busy the weight will fly off!!
I’m going to give breastfeeding a shot, apparently that helps further the weight loss. I’ll also be trying to eat healthy and after my 6 wk checkup I’m joining a gym. Even if I can get a few days in a week that will help.

There’s a diet called "Fat Loss 4 Idiots" which can help you lose 9lbs every 11 days.
It’s a "calorie shifter" diet which means that it makes each of the 11 days carry a different amount of calorie intake. I.E day 1 will be 1,500 calories, day 2 will be 1,000 calories, etc.
It works by stimulating your body into thinking that you have plenty of food to eat so it doesn’t need to store any fat any more. This then encourages your body to burn all the stored fat it can – leaving you with a slender figure.

Hope this helps?
